Entering the second trimester, what should moms be prepared for?
You could say this period is a period of turmoil for most moms because it is a period of the most changes - whether it’s physical or mental. The good news is your baby’s gender is now revealed! We have many great tips to share and highly encourage dads to read along as well.
The most noticeable change that you can see with your eyes is weight gain (about 1-2 kilograms per month) together with an increase in breast size. Skin darkening on face, neck, underarms, and leg folds along with stretch marks may continue to worry many moms. In addition, other changes that are not noticeable are expansion of the uterus.
- Self Care
Relief of morning sickness symptoms during this trimester will allow moms to have more appetite. Moms should continue to eat a well-balanced diet and control intake of carbohydrates, sugar, and fat. For skin problems such as acne, skin darkening and stretch marks, we highly recommend our entire series: PregSkin Blemish Control Skin-Clearing Serum and PregSkin Brightening Age-Defying Moisturizing Facial Cream for face and PregSkin Intensive Hydrating Stretch Mark Butter for body. All three products are dermatologically tested in the US and do not contain any harmful ingredients for moms and their babies.
If you experience vaginal bleeding, this could be a sign of placental previa; or if you experience pain during urination, fever or back pain, this may lead to or be a sign of urinary tract infection. It is recommended to seek medical attention as soon as possible.
